Cozumel Island is 1 hour away from Playa del Carmen, which is close to Cancun. It is a “ferry excursion” and is a very popular destination for snorkelers and scuba divers. Its underwater world was discovered by Jacques Cousteau in 1959, and since then, Cozumel has become a National Marine Park for the protection of its amazing coral reefs and exquisite variety of tropical fish.
